Switch to efficiency

The “Treesquare” office building on Square De Meeus 5-6 has also undergone a ‘Swich to efficiency’. We used the DALI light control in combination with 267 multifunctional SAPP® detectors.

The principle

The first sensor, the shortest one to the elevator, switches the floor from absence in presence mode. In practice, this means that the lighting is switched on when someone enters the office. When leaving the office after 15 minutes, the lighting turns off. The lighting in the hallway remains on as long as someone is on the floor. Only 15 minutes after the last person has left the floor, the corridor lighting turns off.

GIA Systems wouldn’t be GIA Systems if we hadn’t done something special. We always develop solutions tailored to the project and the desired functionalities.

Here we forward the second channel of our presence/absence detector to Priva. Priva uses its information to switch the heating to the correct mode (presence/absence). We also pass the ambient light level to Priva via Bacnet. Priva calculates how much is needed to reach 500 lux, for example, and adjusts our setpoint so that the lighting dims.

Outcome

Maximum comfort with minimum energy consumption, and thus cost savings for the end user.
