Amsterdam City Harbour Hotel

The construction site of the Amsterdam City Harbour Hotel is a transitional area between living and working and forms the entrance to the Cruquius working area. The building was designed to connect with the surrounding buildings on the Eastern Docklands. The building consists of a characteristic volume, in which various cut-outs have been made. The entrances to the various functions are all located on the same courtyard. Visitors to the restaurant on the seventh floor can enjoy spectacular views. Definitely worth it!

The 11-storey hotel is built above a 2-storey basement and has 245 hotel rooms and 85 extended stay apartments. With so many floors and room types, there is no other option than to opt for efficient electrical cabling. How can you connect 11 + 2 floors electrically and power all room types efficiently?

GIA Systems Flexbox® distribution boxes

The Flexbox® junction box stands for faster, better and more reliable installation. Thanks to the patented system of copper plates there is no internal heating, no floating zero, minimal transition resistance and voltage drop. Moreover, the production process is CEBEC and KEMA certified!

In close cooperation with the Schoonderbeek installation group, which is already familiar with our pluggable components, the power distribution in the various types of hotel rooms was worked out. This resulted in 4 new Flexbox® junction boxes (types 998A and 998B for the rooms, and types 988C and 988D for the apartments), a list of the number and type of cables (Cca S1 d1 a1) per building component (4). On demand, the products were made at GIA Systems and delivered to the construction site.
